Wes Ramsey and Laura Wright, who plays impossible-to-kill cartoon villain Peter August and angry, unhappy, long-term self-proclaimed victim Carly Cortinthos on “General Hospital,” seldom cross paths onscreen. Carly was enraged when Peter set up her best friend and new love interest, Jason Morgan (Steve Burton), for Franco Baldwin’s (Roger Howarth) murder and devised a plan to bring him down (via Soaps.com), but that storyline was dropped after a few weeks and Carly and Peter returned to their separate storylines.
Peter is currently serving time in prison for a variety of offenses (according to Soap Hub), yet he still manages to abuse Maxie Jones (Kirsten Storms). Carly is bemoaning the fact that her husband, Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard), fell in love with someone else while he was amnesiac (via Soaps.com). While Peter and Carly never seem to have a good day in the fictional town of Port Charles, Ramsey and Wright have a real-life romance without the Sturm und drang that is typical of love stories on TV.

Wes Ramsey and Laura Wright met on the now-defunct CBS serial opera “Guiding Light,” where he portrayed Sam Spencer and she played Cassie Layne, but they didn’t start dating until after meeting at a 2017 Daytime Emmy Awards gala in Los Angeles. When Ramsey and Wright reconnected, he sensed something amazing had happened straight immediately, according to Soaps In Depth. “What seemed like a coincidence of circumstance to the outer world — meeting into each other at a party after so many years — I realized instantaneously in that moment that my life as I knew it was transforming,” Ramsey once stated.
Ramsey took to Instagram in November 2021 to express his gratitude for Wright’s presence in his life.
