Spoilers for The Young and the Restless (Y&R) reveal that Hayley Erin’s character, Claire Newman, is falling in love. She clearly feels something for Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor), and he feels the same way.
The tension that had been building since Jordan Howard (Colleen Zenk) was on the loose was finally released when they shared a kiss in a particular area of the perpetually gorgeous Chancellor Park.
Now that the confrontation with Summer Newman (Allison Lanier) has over, Kyle is changing his priorities and concentrating on the positive aspects of his life. His mother still irritates him, though.
The Young And The Restless Spoilers – Treating Diane Jenkins Like A Dog
Kyle’s behavior toward his mother is abhorrent. Diane Jenkins Abbott (Susan Walters) wronged him when faking her death. But that’s long been resolved in soap time.
However, Kyle dismisses all the work he and his mother did to rebuild trust and their relationship. He turned on her and his father for petty reasons. Viewers know that happened so the Glissade storyline could proceed.
Diane deserves better from her son for no other reason than she is his mother, period. Kyle’s overgrown brat behavior is reprehensible. He is exploiting her past mistakes while not being challenged on having wronged many people himself, most recently Summer.
The Young And The Restless Spoilers – Summer Newman Was Good To Her Husband
While Kyle was indulging himself in New York, Summer was elsewhere. Both characters were off-screen during that Y&R period. But they returned with a vengeance.
Hunter King drove back into town in the sports car she had stolen from her boyfriend. Kyle wanted no part of her, and they weren’t together at the start.
Summer eventually coerced him into marrying her when Lola Rosales (Sasha Calle) was in the picture. As an aside, it would be great to see Calle return. That actor and the others who were part of the Rosales family are greatly missed.
But Summer and Kyle got it right the second time around. They married, moved to Italy, and took the son he had with Tara Locke (Elizabeth Leiner) with them. Summer’s embrace of Harrison Abbott (Redding Munsell) was about love.
Then, Kyle threw her love away because he didn’t like that she withheld her mother’s death hoax. That link back to Diane wasn’t missed.
The Young And The Restless Spoilers – Claire Newman Is New
Claire is still looking for a place in Genoa City, Wisconsin. That will take a while. In the meantime, Kyle has become her official first love.
Admitting that she’s had no romantic connections was challenging. But Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) offered support.
Kyle’s kiss means that he may offer Claire the love she craves. Her recent efforts to help thaw tensions with his parents may eventually work. But the positive influence she’s having on him is already in effect.
