Spoilers for The Young and the Restless (Y&R) reveal that Audra Charles (Zuleyka Silver) and Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) are only interested in collaborating for a short period of time. At Glissade, each person thinks they can beat the other.
But Eric Braeden’s character Victor Newman wants them to act in the best interests of his newly acquired business. Trevor St. John’s character Tucker McCall was forced out in part by Audra. But Kyle’s part is still not entirely developed.
Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) is Victor’s target. The Newman-Abbott feud is back because Jack is seen risking Nikki Newman’s (Melody Thomas Scott) life. Victor’s assessment is based on his loathing of Jack and Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson).

Jack had an epiphany after the storyline of Marco Annicelli (Bergman in a dual role) climaxed. He decided not to defend Phyllis Summers’ (then played by Gina Tognoni) honor and let Victor’s horrible doppelganger plot drop.
Victor and Jack’s heat cooled significantly in the years that followed. Jack felt it wasn’t worth it to continue his fight with Victor. That was partially pragmatic and a nod to the viewers that Bergman’s character was moving in a fresh direction.
So, with time having passed, Victor came to believe that Jack could have gotten Nikki killed when he opted to obtain and ingest illegal substances. While Victor was right to be concerned, reigniting the fight with Jack was a profound overreaction.

While Audra’s primary purpose has been accomplished, Victor keeps her on the payroll. She is cutthroat, and he likes that.
But Victor also needs Audra to counterbalance Kyle. He wants them to work together while believing that their heated rivalry creates useful tension.
Audra thinks she is smarter than Kyle, and she’s likely correct. She may be underestimating him because of her belief that his silver spoon life makes him less cunning than herself.

Kyle’s vulnerabilities include the deeply emotional brawl he’s created with his parents. Victor happily exploits that and wants to use Kyle to sink Jabot eventually.
Harrison Abbott’s (Redding Munsell) custody issue appears to be subsiding. But that could flair at any moment. But even if it does not, there is another personal issue that is distracting Kyle.
His growing bond with Claire Grace (Hayley Erin) contrasts the self-created problems with his parents. So, it is a positive distraction and one he shares with Audra. She recently told her romantic interest, Nate Hastings (Sean Dominic), that Victor is the silent backer of Glissade.
Victor likes Kyle, who once served as his replacement father figure. His belief that he can manage the Moustache is misguided, with Kyle’s time at Glissade potentially short-lived.
