After announcing his stunning split from wife Zoe Ventoura in December 2020, he recently claimed he was ready to date again.
And now there are wild rumors that Daniel MacPherson, the star of Neighbours, will be the next Bachelor.
The 41-year-old actor is “officially on the top of The Bachelor want list” for producers “who are on the hunt for a big name this year,” according to New Idea magazine.
‘They want someone that is instantly identifiable and well known,’ a source told the publication.
‘Daniel is a prime candidate… everyone loves him. He has massive appeal.’
After starring in the long-running series Neighbours, the star has frequently featured on Channel 10’s The Project and Studio 10.
In an interview with The Herald-Sun earlier this year, Daniel acknowledged that he’s ready to date again, albeit slowly.’
He said: ‘I’m dipping my toe in and taking it very slowly.’
Daniel has returned to his birthplace of Cronulla and is focusing on parenthood in the midst of the pandemic, he added.
‘I’m just loving fatherhood,’ he said of raising son Austin, two.
‘Zoe and I are co-parenting and we’re really good, she’s a fantastic mother,’ he added.
In December 2020, the two released very identically written Instagram posts announcing their joint decision to separate.
‘With the utmost respect for each other, Zo and I have parted,’ Daniel wrote with a snapshot of the couple with their backs to the camera at sunset.
‘Together, we will continue to raise our lovely boy Austin with all of our hearts.’ He is, and always will be, our top priority.
‘We ask for your respect and will be making no further comment.’
They have a reputation for keeping their only kid hidden from the public eye, as well as keeping the pregnancy and delivery a secret.
In 2015, Daniel married Zoe at a small wedding in Noosa, Queensland.
He revealed in 2017 that the first year of his marriage with Zoe was “difficult” because the two performers travel so much for work.
In an honest interview with WHO magazine, Daniel noted, “The first year of marriage was tough for us in a lot of ways, namely because of the travel.”
The former daytime star, on the other hand, revealed that the couple has become used to being apart.
‘It’s just that we’re incredibly excellent at it.’ We can operate separately,’ he said, adding that the two have a policy where they may demand ‘times up’ and ‘jump on a plane’ back to each other if necessary.
