The actress and singer, who played Bea Nilsson in Neighbours, shared her excitement over the big news on Instagram.

“I CAN’T BELIEVE IT!!! My best friend asked me to marry him! I can’t wait for forever with you my love!” she captioned the post.

Sam shared his own joy over their engagement on his Instagram page, posting a similar photo and writing: “I couldn’t be happier. I love this girl, more than anything. Let’s do the rest of our lives together.”

It’s unclear how long the couple has been dating, but they made their relationship public in November 2021.

Bonnie has received congratulations messages from her old Neighbours co-stars, with David Tanaka’s Takaya Honda writing: “Congrats Bon Bon!” and Harlow Robinson’s Jemma Donovan writing: “Congrats Bon!!”

Scott McGregor (Mark Brennan), Georgie Stone (Mackenzie Hargreaves), Ben Hall (Ned Willis), April Rose Pengilly (Chloe Brennan), and Jacinta Stapleton (Chloe Brennan) all expressed their delight (Amy Greenwood).

Bonnie initially appeared on Neighbours in 2018 as Bea, and was introduced as Elly Conway’s estranged half-sister (Jodi Anasta). Her boyfriend Patrick was discovered to be the wicked Finn Kelly (Rob Mills), who had previously placed Bea’s aunt Susan Kennedy (Jackie Woodburne) in the hospital, and she was soon embroiled in a major dramatic narrative.

She left Ramsay Street in 2021, having struck up a friendship with the new Sheila Canning, and decided to go on a road trip with her.

Following her exit, Bonnie said that she felt she had “reached a point that I could take everything on board and was ready to continue soaring elsewhere”, adding that she would “absolutely” consider reprising her role in the future.

If the actress wants to return, she’ll have to move quickly, as Neighbours will be canceled this summer after 37 years on the air due to financial concerns.
