Penny McNamee, a former star of Home and Away, has returned to the serial opera, but not in the role of Tori Morgan.
The performer announced on Instagram that she had made a comeback to the program, this time in the role of writer, by sharing a photo of the Home and Away end titles.
“PLoTwiST! “Same legendary team, different place in the credits,” she captioned the photo.
“I’m a little overwhelmed by all the encouragement and love. Thank you wonderful humans.” Penny added in the comments.
At this time, it is unclear whether this was just a one off thing or whether she will be writing for the soap regularly. It is also unclear if she’ll make her return to the soap as Tori.
Penny left the show in 2021 when her character Tori married Christian Green and they both end up leaving the Bay, with Tori moving to the UK to work in a hospital.
She posted a tribute to her Instagram at the time, thanking fans for their support and the cast and crew for all their hard work and welcoming environment.
“After 5 amazing years, the time has come for me to say goodbye to Tori Morgan and Summer Bay,” she wrote. “I feel incredibly grateful for my time at Home and Away and I would like to thank many people for making it possible.”
“Thank you to our outstanding and warm-hearted cast (past and present) crew, writers, publicists and production team, for your warmth, your humour and your friendship,” the star continued.
“To the incredible fans, who have supported me, showering me with encouragement and hilarious photos-edits. I have read all of your letters and comments and I appreciate every single one.
