It’s been 17 years since viewers saw him as Dimitri Poulos in Home and Away and as Salvatore Coco gets set to make his dramatic return, Daily Star take a look at what the actor has been up too
A familiar figure will return to Summer Bay this year, as Salvatore Coco reprises his role as Dimitri Poulos on Home and Away.
Fans are wondering how the celebrity will be reintroduced into the programme, as the actor indicated on Instagram that filming has been “amazing.”
The star has returned to the renowned Australian soap after a 17-year absence, dazzling the public with his musical talents.
He’s also appeared in a number of unexpected TV and film roles.
Let’s take a look into the lives of Dimitri Poulos, from his popular gorgeous pupil Con Bordino to his thriving music career and dramatic soap return.
Salvatore began his training in acting, singing, dancing, and musical theatre at the age of nine, and has since become one of Australia’s most renowned performers.
Sal turned his musical abilities into a career by starring in a number of spectacular theatrical productions, including finalists in the Short & Sweet Theatre Festival, The Pond and The Rules of April.
He also hosts and performs at business events, festivals, weddings, and award ceremonies all around Australia. Sal uses social media to keep followers up to date on his music career, providing footage from events while on stage.

Salvatore’s notoriety has made him a sought-after MC and Entertainer in Australia. While taking up acting roles, the multi-talented star continues to play musically.
Heartbreak High role
Sal was most recognised for his portrayal as popular student Costa “Con” Bordino in the 1990s adolescent drama Heartbreak High.
In between his economic endeavours, his character had a fling with his friend’s mother and engaged in a succession of questionable relationships.
His character left the soap to participate in a student exchange programme, but later returned to disclose that he had dropped out of school to pursue a career in real estate.
Coco was cast as Joseph Cardillo in the final series of Police Rescue after two years in that role. He appeared in a number of television shows, including Country Practice, Water Rats, and Wildside.
Since Heartbreak High, his most noteworthy acting role was as Dimitri Poulos in the Australian soap series Home and Away.
His feature film credits include Walk the Talk, Looking for Alibrandi, Bootmen, and Two Hands, among others.
Career U-turn
Whilst many fans know the star from his acting roles in Heartbreak High and Home and Away, the talented star made a career u-turn in recent years when he began working as a regular wedding singer.
The star has MC’d and sang at 100s of wedding and often posts intimate video of happy couples on his Instagram. “Moments like these are priceless and I am blessed to be sharing it with you both,” he shared on Instagram.

The star frequently extols his passion of singing while also pursuing acting roles.
