Home and Away viewers a gearing up for a Cinderella moment. But it isn’t a story of rags to riches.
In a heart wrenching week on Home and Away, Ari Parata (Rob Kipa-Williams) and Mia Anderson (Anna Samson) race against the clock to get married.
Late last year the pair had never been happier. The long-lost lovers reunited after 20 years and got engaged.
But fast forward to now, and family barbecues on beautiful Summer Bay evenings are a thing of the past.
Ari is likely to spend the rest of his life in prison after falsely confessing to murder, and his cancer diagnosis means their happily ever after may be over.
The beloved character has been in prison for the murder of Matthew Montgomery for the past few weeks (James Sweeny).
Despite his previous history, Ari accepted responsibility for the crime in order to protect Mia and her daughter Chloe (Sam Barrett), who were both complicit in Matthew’s killing.
Ari was brought to the hospital with suspected appendicitis during Thursday’s triple bill, but Dr. Logan Bennett (Harley Bonner) reveals he is riddled with tumors for which there is no cure.
Mia is more determined than ever to marry the guy she loves now that she realizes he is on borrowed time.
Ari’s family arrives at the hospital with a suit for a “family portrait,” which Ari quickly realizes is a fake for a wedding when Mia, dressed in a lace gown, goes down the makeshift aisle in the hospital ward, with daughter Chloe on her side as bridesmaid.
Mia asks Ari to marry her there and then. But with his condition quickly deteriorating, will he get his dying wish to call the woman he loves his wife? Or will his time run out before they can say “I do”? Don’t miss the bittersweet episode of Home and Away, Monday 7pm on Channel 7 and 7plus.
