After witnessing Chloe (Sam Barrett) become closer to her biological father, Matthew, Mia (Anna Samson) has reached a breaking point (James Sweeny). He recommends that she move in with him in the city when he starts talking about her going to business school. Mia is shocked to find that her daughter intends to live with the man who sexually attacked her when she was younger.
Mia realizes that the only way to save Chloe is to tell her the truth. She sits down with her daughter and tells her the truth about why she despises Matthew. Matthew took advantage of her on the night of her conception, and she has no recollection of what transpired. Chloe is shaken, then enraged, and wonders why Mia allowed her to live a lie. She storms away, inquiring why Mia concealed this from her and telling Bella (Courtney Miller) and Nikau (Kawakawa Fox-Reo) the news. She is horrified with herself when she realizes Mia was attempting to protect her; how could she have put her parents through this? Matthew has now become a permanent feature in their life.
Chloe starts ignoring Matthew’s calls, but it doesn’t take long for him to notice. Matthew shows up at the Diner during her shift to confront her. Chloe, on the other hand, holds firm in her belief that she knows the truth about what he did to Mia and that Matthew should leave their life. Matthew, on the other hand, is sure that Mia is completely incorrect, and he simply wants the best for Chloe.
Matthew, however, refuses to accept Chloe’s rejection and arrives at the residence. He begs Chloe to give him a chance, but she refuses, insisting that he must leave. Mia arrives and tries to settle things down, but Matthew grows upset and grabs Mia, accusing her of fabricating lies in an attempt to kidnap Chloe.
Chloe is worried and desperate to protect her mother, so she takes the first item that comes to hand — a brick – and smashes Matthew across the head with it. He collapses to the ground unconscious, leaving the two women speechless. Mia looks for his pulse but can’t find it. They become panicked and cram Matthew’s body into the back of his car.
Mia encourages Chloe to go inside and be quiet; she’ll take care of everything. Chloe nods softly, her body trembling with surprise, and stumbles over to the sofa. Mia, on the other hand, prepares herself for the task ahead and drives away.
However, as she races out of the Bay, Cash (Nicholas Cartwright) notices the vehicle and proceeds to pursue it…
