Home and Away spoilers: Ryder and Felicity become closer

Ryder (Lukas Radovich) has been living in the trailer park since deciding he can no longer bear the incessant squabbling between Roo (Georgie Parker) and Alf (Ray Meagher). After some time apart, Alf has decided to take the initiative and apologize to his grandson for how he handled the matter with Theo (Matt Evans). Ryder accepts the apology and resolves to return to the family home, realizing that he can’t keep a grudge forever.

The peace has been restored, and Ryder has more good news to share when he joyously declares that he has completed his TAFE course. Roo and Alf are ecstatic for him, but the joy is short-lived when sad news arrives: a death in the Bay.

In the aftermath of the news, Alf considers his distance from Martha (Belinda Giblin), and he organizes a family meal to brighten everyone’s spirits and celebrate Ryder’s graduation. Ryder, on the other hand, struggles to fit in with the house’s mood and walks out of the lunch, stating he’s guilty to be celebrating while others are grieving.

Ryder’s death has made him reflect on his own recent sadness when he lost his father only a few months after meeting him for the first time. He and Theo devise a plan to shoot one final video to help others who are grieving, putting their filmmaking abilities to good use this time.

Ryder had a talk with his new coworker Felicity (Jacqui Purvis) at Salt about how to deal with bereavement. He doesn’t know what to do now that he’s thinking about his father’s death. Felicity tells Ryder about her own father’s death, and he asks if the pain ever goes away. Felicity is forthright in her assessment, stating that it never disappears, but your acceptance grows stronger. Ryder believes he has finally found someone who understands him…
