Home and Away’s Tane and Felicity to be hit with new setback in their relationship

Tane Parata and Felicity Newman of Home and Away will encounter a sad setback in upcoming scenes, as they must decide whether they want the same things out of their developing relationship.

Despite a rocky start to their relationship, which included a deadly encounter with a stalker, Tane (Ethan Browne) and Felicity (Jacqui Purvis) now look to be on solid ground as Felicity helps Tane through the devastating loss of his brother Ari (Rob Kipa-Williams).

Tane and his nephew Nikau (Kawakawa Fox-Reo) attended a moving Maori funeral service, which included a haka, before transporting Ari’s body to New Zealand.

When the two return home, the reality of Ari’s death settles in, and Tane struggles to assume leadership of the Parata family, especially in the face of Ari’s new wife Mia Anderson’s grief (Anna Samson).

According to TV Week, an upset Tane would seek to Felicity for consolation in her arms. When he sees her outside her caravan park house, dancing about with music blasting through her headphones, the wonderful sight lifts him out of his sadness, and he rushes to embrace her, full of love for his girlfriend.

Tane confides in Felicity that his sadness over Ari, the pressure to care for his family, and the worry about their financial obligations are all weighing heavily on his mind as the pair sits down for a heart-to-heart.

Felicity is sympathetic, listening to Tane and offering him a shoulder to weep on. Tane tells to Felicity that he sees a true future with her, including a house and a family, while he regrets that Ari and Mia will never get an opportunity to be a proper family.

Felicity grins graciously on the outside, but on the inside, she is worrying as her anxiety builds — she isn’t sure if having her own family is something she truly desires.

“This is a massive moment for Flick,” Jacqui said. “That fear of commitment rises and she panics.”

Felicity subsequently confides in her brother Cash Newman (Nicholas Cartwright), revealing that she isn’t sure she wants to have children because of their traumatic upbringing. But she’s aware that Tane is aware of this – what should she do?

Felicity bravely tells Tane the truth after gaining encouragement from Cash — she may never want to marry or have children.

Shocked, Tane recoils from her and promptly asks her to leave, saying, “I can’t do this”.

Is this the end of Tane and Felicity’s relationship, or will they be able to work things out?
