Karl Stefanovic had a bad day on Sunday, but he managed to make the best of it.
The Today show host, 47, was locked in a lift and live-streamed a photo from his imprisonment on Instagram.
He was surrounded by friends, including comedian Hamish Blake, 40, and Home and Away star Ray Meagher, 77.
Karl and the two men were wearing white shirts and bowties after a formal function in the photo published to his social media.
They appeared to be making light of the dangerous position, crammed together in the lift.
Karl wrote in his caption: ‘Flamin’ hell @hamishblakeshotz. Stuck in a bloody lift with one of Australia’s greatest legends @raymeagherofficial Strike me pink.’
It follows Karl’s first meeting with Lisa Wilkinson since her highly publicised departure from the Channel Nine show.
The former Today co-hosts were seen smiling and posing for photos together at a Gold Coast event revealing the 2022 Logie nominations on Sunday.
Karl and Lisa, both 62, appeared to be getting along in public for the first time since she published a memoir about her time at Channel Nine.
Speaking to The Daily Telegraph, Lisa said: ‘It was lovely to see Karl, and a reminder to both of us of the many great years we spent together.’
Wilkinson’s feud with Stefanovic in the weeks leading up to her resignation from Channel Nine is detailed in new passages released to promote the book.
Other passages from Wilkinson’s book detail the drama surrounding his 2016 divorce from Cassandra Thorburn, as well as his subsequent romance and marriage to shoe designer Jasmine Yarbrough.
