Kyle and Roxy leave Neighbours as their final scenes air

Kyle Canning and Roxy Willis‘ final scenes on Neighbours air today in the United Kingdom, with the couple traveling to Darwin to begin their new life together.

Nothing has been truer in the last few months than the cliche “all good things must come to an end.” Fans all across the world have been in shock when the cancellation of Neighbours was revealed last month.

Despite the fact that viewers have a few months till they leave Ramsay Street for the final time, the “good things” have begun to fade away one by one.

After three years on (and off!) Ramsay Street, Roxy Willis (Zima Anderson), and Kyle Canning (Chris Milligan) depart tonight for Darwin, where they will start their new life together with a baby on the way. While the couple’s relationship hasn’t always been easy, a fresh start is just what the doctor prescribed.

Back to the Bay takes a look back at the characters and their lives on possibly the world’s most famous cul-de-sac in honour of Kyle and Roxy’s new beginnings.

Kyle initially debuted in Erinsborough on November 26, 2008, as long-time fans will know. Chris showed himself after almost eighteen months of part-time work, and he was signed to a full-time job after a six-week trial period.

Kyle and Georgia had their share of ups and downs, but after a devastating miscarriage, a stunning one-night stand, and a cancer scare, they were able to walk down the aisle and live happily ever after.

Their joy was short-lived, however, as Georgia continued to take the tablet despite Kyle’s belief that she had quit. The singer went to Germany to care for her sick mother, and it was there that she realised she and Kyle had made a blunder by marrying.

Kyle was fast to fall in love once more. It was Amy Williams (Zoe Cramond), Paul Robinson’s (Stefan Dennis) daughter, this time.

Kyle got along well with her and her small son Jimmy, despite his age (Darcy Tadich). This connection, like the others of his, was tumultuous, and Kyle finally returned to Georgia, leaving Amy and Jimmy sad when he left to join her in Germany.

Chris left the part of Kyle after five years to pursue a life in the United States with fiancée and co-star Jenna Rosenow. Chris, on the other hand, stepped back into Kyle Canning’s shoes in 2019.

Onscreen, he reappeared just as his father Gary (Damien Richardson) proposed to his fiancée… Kyle’s ex-girlfriend Amy! It was revealed that he and Georgia had ended their relationship for good, and that he’d return to take over as project manager for the Robinson Pines from Amy.

Kyle had left Georgia because he was still in love with Amy, but the truth finally came out. This produced friction between the three of them, which culminated in tension when Kyle had to say goodbye to his father before he was slain by an arrow in 2020.

Zima Anderson made her onscreen debut as Roxy Willis, Terese’s spunky niece, just five weeks after Kyle’s 2019 comeback (Rebekah Elmaloglou).

Roxy was outgoing and bubbly on the surface, but it was evident that she was troubled beneath the surface.

Roxy had apparent daddy issues, having a partner who was twice her age and Terese’s ex-boyfriend, as seen by allusions to abuse in her early appearances.

Roxy was fast to use Vance’s (Conrad Coleby) money to buy the Back Lane Bar with Leo (Tim Kano), but when he attacked Paul, she was the one who reported him to the cops.

Roxy finally won over Paul and his granddaughter Harlow (Jemma Donovan), with whom she had numerous conflicts when they initially moved in together, though it took some time.

Roxy also made an appearance in Shane (Nicholas Coughlan) and Dipi’s (Sharon Johal) relationship when her professional reliance on Shane grew amorous and the two kissed.

Roxy and Kyle ultimately gave in to the temptations and hooked up at Elly Conway’s (Jodi Anasta) 35th birthday celebrations. Despite the fact that the pair had a relatively easy time, save for Kyle almost killing David Tanaka (Takaya Honda) in a hit-and-run, they have since been plagued by turmoil.

Kyle was forced to have both of his testicles removed after being diagnosed with testicular cancer, preventing the couple from having children naturally. They’d have to rely on Kyle’s frozen sperm instead.

Realizing that life is short, the couple decided to marry and exchanged vows in a spectacular ceremony.

Unfortunately, Mother Nature had other plans, and the reception was marred by tragedy when a telegraph pole toppled onto the area.

The couple has now decided that it is time to relocate to the north and start a new life together. We hope Kyle and Roxy find happiness after all they’ve been through, especially with the pitter-patter of young feet on the way.

The big day is coming up on Tuesday.

Roxy and Kyle are on their way to Darwin… but not without throwing a farewell party first. Everyone is ecstatic when Roxy announces her pregnancy.

They bid their goodbyes and depart Erinsborough, along with the Ramsay Street sign, for their new life.

The departure of Kyle and Roxy will air in the UK on Tuesday, April 12th, and in Australia on Thursday, May 5th.
