Maurice Benard shares a fun behind the scenes reel with Nazneen Contractor as fans chat about their on-screen chemistry.
Maurice Benard (Sonny Corinthos) seems to enjoy a great relationship with his fellow cast members on General Hospital (GH). This weekend, he shared about his costar, Nazneen Contractor (Justine Turner) behind the scenes on the ABC property. It seemed very sweet. Read on for more details.
A Behind The Scenes Reel
On Saturday, Maurice Benard took to his Instagram and his reel showed him sashaying down the passage looking very mobsterish in his suit. Then he shared a little bit of light comedy. The real life wife of Carlo Rota (Jenz Sidwell) sashayed alongside him, and it looked like fun.
It isn’t the first time that the real life Sonny Corinthos shared his close relationship with other cast members. In fact about a year ago, he walked into a restaurant and found a whole lot of other cast members enjoying their lunch. Everyone greeted him with smiles. So, clearly, he’s popular with the General Hospital cast.
Nazneen Is Quite New On The Show
Of course, many of them worked with Maurice on the ABC daytime show for much longer than Nazneen Contractor. Since her arrival as an assistant district attorney in 2024, when the trial of Maura West (Ava Jerome) started, she and Maurice Benard developed an attachment. Not that it romantically spills over into real life. As GH fans know, Maurice is happoily married to his wife, Paula.
Of course, Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright) is off playing with Jack Brennan’s emotions (Chris McKenna), and she and Valentin Cassadine (James Patrick Stuart) seem to be getting close. While fans loved Carly Spencer and Sonny together, they don’t mind what they see playing out right now with Justine and Sonny.Viewers React
In the comments section, many of GH fans liked the fun video, but it seems they also like the chemistry between the two actors. One of them penned, “Dont get me wrong I love sonny and Carly but this im into they grew on me.”

Carlo & Nanzeen
It seems interesting that some GH fans weren’t aware that Nazneen Contractor is married to Carlo Rota. If you don’t know, she and her mom went to visit the studio one day and caught Frank Valentini’s eye.
Later, she told TV Insider, “Carlo came home and he said, ‘Frank said they need this big prosecuting lawyer for a courtroom scene, and I think he’s gonna write you into the show.”‘
Initially, the well-trained actress with shows like Rules of Engagement on her large resume, expected to film just a few episodes. Well, she stayed on, and these days, she and Sonny seem to have something going on between them. On set, of course, not in real life.
