Can Melanie deal with the ghost of Sonya?
After agreeing to move in together, Toadie and Melanie are in a good place in Neighbours, but Mel’s memories of Sonya start to cause her distress.
To be fair to Melanie, living with your boyfriend’s dead ex-girlfriend is never great, and she also has to cope with a large mural of her at Lassiters, so Sonya is always on everyone’s mind.
Melanie, on the other hand, begins to suffer with it all next week, and hearing how loved Sonya was from everyone only adds to her anxiety.
Amy is there for Melanie when she returns from a date to find Melanie uncharacteristically down in the dumps, which is a little awkward given her apparent love for Toadie.
While Melanie tries to hide her feelings by acting normal, Amy knows better and prods her until she admits how insecure she is.
Despite the fact that it was a private conversation, Amy believes that Toadie has to know how his girlfriend is doing and tells him everything.
He appreciates the heads-up, but Melanie believes Amy has breached her trust, as she had hoped to handle the situation without engaging Toadie at all.
But Amy may be forgiven quickly, as Melanie wanted a sit-down session with Toadie, and he had an open and honest conversation with her about Sonya and how he sees Mel fitting into his life.
It would appear that these two are back in a good place, but will we hear the sound of wedding bells for them in the near future?
