Neighbours Spoilers – 80s characters reunite in the final week

This week, on Neighbours’ final ever week, Clive’s attempts to get back in Jane’s good books are thwarted by the return of Mike Young, while more familiar faces return to Ramsay Street.

Even though there are only seven episodes of Neighbours left (12 for Australian fans), there is still plenty of drama in the show’s last week as it looks back at the past to go forwards.

Jane Harris has through a difficult period (Annie Jones). The adored matriarch has recently dealt with divorce, a tumultuous relationship with her daughter, and being the unwitting victim of her partner Clive’s (Geoff Paine) earlier errors.

Jane discovered that Clive had slept with Danielle (Christine Stephen-Daly) many years ago when she was one of his patients after discovering images of the two together.

Clive recently said he’d think about it when Danielle requested for one last night with him. Jane broke up with him because she was unable to see through his lies.

Clive makes an effort to make amends with Jane this week. Despite the fact that he knows it was wrong to keep the truth from her, he is determined to make things right and will do everything it takes to convince her to take him back.

While Jane is gathering decorations for Toadie’s (Ryan Moloney) and Melanie’s (Lucinda Cowden) impending wedding, however, her entire life is turned upside down.

In the Lassiters complex, Jane runs into someone while carrying a box full of heart-shaped trinkets. The two automatically stoop to pick up everything, but as Jane glances up, she is startled by who she sees.

Mike Young (Guy Pearce), equipped with a motorcycle helmet and leather jacket!

In case you’ve forgotten, Mike and Jane were a popular couple in the 1980s.

They had a long-lasting relationship when she was known as “Plain Jane Super Brain,” and at the time were said to as the love of each other’s lives. Together with Charlene (Kylie Minogue) and Scott (Jason Donovan), the trio was a force to be reckoned with.

The two haven’t seen one other in years, so it’s a significant occasion for them.

As the majority of the homes get ready to go up for auction, Jane decides to take Mike on a sentimental tour of Ramsay Street while they get to know one another again.

It feels the same as it did over forty years ago when they reunite with old friends Paul (Stefan Dennis), Des (Paul Keane), Harold (Ian Smith), and Melanie on Ramsay Street. There is joy, nostalgia, and a reminder of what wonderful neighbours can turn into.

Up until Clive showed up and detected red.

He becomes enraged with jealousy as he sees Jane making out with her ex-boyfriend.

Harold is forced to turn the hose on the two middle-aged guys fighting like wild cats on the street after a fight breaks out over a turquoise lamp.

Will Jane be forced to choose between the two men she once loved if they start fighting?

Jane is concerned about the impact her recent attitude has had on her kids in the meanwhile.

She didn’t exactly respond appropriately after learning that her son Byron (Joe Klacek) was a gigolo, and she made him pick between a legal career and a more specialised job route. She was shocked when Byron quit Rebecchi Law and decided to stay in the escort business.

Fortunately, she doesn’t have to wait long to experience joy.

After a lengthy drive from Brisbane, two former inhabitants of Erinsborough exit their green Mini with their Florida licence plates and glance at the street where they fell in love while wearing their Ray-Bans.

It is none other than the 1980s power couple Scott and Charlene. The two have travelled back to Ramsay Street after nearly 35 years gone for a particular cause.

Scott and Charlene climb the stairs to No. 24, Chloe’s recently sold residence, and look out the window where they first met in 1986.

Scott can’t possibly forget the blow to the face he received when he saw Charlene “breaking in” to the Ramsay residence.

Nothing is more heartbreaking than seeing old friends again, and when Charlene sees Jane, it seems like no time has passed at all. They are thrilled to see one another and embrace.

It’s obvious that Scott and Charlene are back exactly where they belong, joined by Paul and Harold. Perhaps they’re celebrating the acquisition of their brand-new (old!) home?

Of course, the reunion is complete when recently returned Mike stumbles into Charlene.

Who would have imagined that so many long-lost best buddies would reunite on Ramsay Street?

It is after all the place where excellent neighbours turned into good friends.
