Roxy (Zima Anderson) and Kyle (Chris Milligan) have had a difficult year in Neighbours, and the newlyweds are hoping to be on their way to a happily ever after now that they’ve decided to start a family.
Roxy gave up her chance to work on Fashion Week in order to focus on starting a family with Kyle, as the two felt that life is too short not to go for it after recent occurrences. She’s determined to give him the kid he desires – after all, he deserves happiness after all of his heartbreak – so the couple is looking into IVF.
Roxy can’t stop thinking about it, and she’s ecstatic to add to their little family. She’s ready to take a pregnancy test, and her baby fever has gotten the best of her, so she’s inviting everyone to the revelation of the results. Kyle becomes concerned when she hears this; is she setting herself up for a nasty fall? He goes behind her back and tells them not to come in order to protect her from what he knows will be a devastating disappointment, but when Roxy finds out what he’s done, she explodes.
Not only that, but his negativity irritates her to the point where she begins to suspect she isn’t pregnant after all, and dread creeps in as the pair takes the test and waits.
The news is exactly what Kyle had feared, but not in the way he expected — they’ve lost their only hope of having a biological kid. Sheila and Terese are prepared to battle for the couple to receive the compensation they deserve, but Kyle is only concerned with Roxy’s safety, which she is not.
Roxy is shocked, but she isn’t ready to give up on her aspirations, so she makes preparations to get their desire of starting a family back on track. What will she do to provide Kyle with the child he desires?
