Neighbours’ Jemma Donovan says fans will be ‘blown away’ by finale episodes

Jemma Donovan, who portrays Harlow on Neighbours, has hinted at facts about the show’s conclusion.

Jemma Donovan, who plays Harlow Robinson in the soap opera Neighbours, has revealed aspects of the show’s dramatic finale episodes.

Following the announcement that the show had been axed, the much-loved Australian soap is sadly coming to an end after 37 years, with the final episodes airing this summer.

Jemma Donovan, the daughter of Neighbours star Jason Donovan, has told fans that there will be plenty more action to come that will not disappoint.

“Our fans are extremely invested in the show,” the 21-year-old said in a recent interview, “and I love that they study and analyze even the most minute detail – now that’s devotion!”

The actress continued to declare that it would achieve the appropriate balance and wow fans while maintaining tight-lipped about the actual details of what serial management have planned.

Jemma, who is starring alongside Amanda Holden in some special episodes filmed in London, said: “I know our fans are going to be blown away by what is being planned for the finale, very celebratory…but that’s all I’m saying for the moment.”

Jemma isn’t the only member of the cast who has spoken out about Neighbours’ impending end of an era.

Jason, who played Scott Robinson alongside Kylie Minogue’s Charlene Robinson on the serial, has expressed his sadness about the show’s demise but says he’ll focus on the fond memories.

“You know, this is 36 years of excellent television and of firmly placing Australia on the map,” Jason, 53, said when the news surfaced.

“I mean, look at the careers that it’s launched. So I’m thinking of the positives and I’m thinking of the happiness and the affection and the love that the show has generated for the years it’s been on TV.”

This comes after Neighbours confirmed the disappointing television news that the show would be canceled.

“We are so sorry to say that after over 37 years and approximately 9000 episodes broadcast, we have to confirm that Neighbours will cease production in June,” the statement stated.

“Following the loss of our key broadcast partner in the UK and despite an extensive search for alternative funding, we simply have no option but to rest the show.”

It continued: “To our amazing, loyal fans, we know this is a huge disappointment, as it is to all of us on the team.

“We thank you for all your messages and support and promise to end the show on an incredible high. From here on, we are celebrating Neighbours.”
