Kemp, Steve McFadden and Paul Bradley will be taking a trip down the Thames on McFadden’s 72ft-long fishing boat.

Ross Kemp has revealed that he has a real life boating trip planned with fellow EastEnders icons Steve McFadden and Paul Bradley.

Kemp made the comments during an exclusive interview with Radio Times when asked what other projects he had in the pipeline beyond his much publicised upcoming return to Albert Square.

“There’s never been a strategy to any of this, so I don’t see any reason to start now,” he said of his career, before adding that the only thing he was currently committed to was a trip aboard McFadden’s 72ft-long fishing boat with those fellow stars.

“It’s sort of a three-men-in-a-boat type of thing,” he explained. “We’ll go off down the Thames and end up having a nice dinner together, which is what gentlemen of our age should be doing.”

Asked if there might be room for the trip to be immortalised in a TV documentary, he added: “I think there should be!”

Kemp will be reprising his iconic role as Grant Mitchell once again later this month, just over a year after he last briefly returned as part of the show’s 40th anniversary celebrations in February 2025.

Speaking earlier about stepping back into the role, Kemp said: “I’m truly delighted to be stepping back into Grant Mitchell’s shoes and returning to EastEnders later this year.

“As well as exploring Grant’s attempts to reconnect with his son Mark, it’s especially an honour to be part of Nigel’s powerful ongoing dementia storyline, which holds deep personal meaning for me due to a close family connection in real life.”
