Meet the 2022 TV WEEK Logies nominees for the Graham Kennedy Award for Most Popular New Talent

The candidates for the 2022 TV WEEK Logies have been announced, and we’re honoring fresh and developing Australian talent as usual.

The Graham Kennedy Award for New Talent was established in 2006 to honor Australia’s newest talents who have earned a name for themselves in the entertainment business in the previous year.

Matt Evans, Alessandra Rampolla, Carlos Sanson Jr, Melanie Bracewell, Tony Armstrong, and Will Lodder are up for the Most Popular New Talent Award this year.

Matt Evans rose to stardom after joining the cast of Home and Away in September of last year.

“It’s incredible how much I’ve learned. It’s like getting paid to attend classes. My first day at the studio, I had a bit of a panic attack because there were so many people around and I had no idea what I was doing. I’m simply attempting to learn on the job “he stated of his debut in Summer Bay.

But the 25-year-old is recognized for more than his role as Theo Poulos in the soap. Matt’s first appearance on television was on The Voice in 2020, where he demonstrated his vocal abilities.

In 2021, Alessandra Rampolla joined fellow relationship gurus John Aiken and Mel Schilling on the eighth season of Married At First Sight.

For her insight and kind personality, the licensed sexologist has become a fan favorite since then.

Married At First Sight has also been nominated for Best Reality Show.

Tony Armstrong’s star has grown dramatically in the last year, so it’s no surprise that the former AFL player turned newscaster has been nominated for the prestigious Graham Kennedy Award.

The 32-year-old is being recognized for his work on ABC’s News Breakfast, but he also appears on The Project with Carrie Bickmore and Lisa Wilkinson on a regular basis.

Carlos Sanson Jr. made a name for himself on Stan’s comedy-drama series Bump, which was created and directed by Claudia Karvan.

After years of being turned down for acting possibilities in Australia, the 24-year-old Chilean actor earned the role of Santi.

Will Lodder, one of Australia’s most promising young actors, has been nominated for his first Logie Award for his role in the highly acclaimed series Love Me.

After his mother dies, the 21-year-old plays Aaron, who must negotiate the complex feelings of love and sorrow.

“It’s important to show males experiencing these emotions and it’s given me a better understanding of the wider variety of roles I want to play,” Will said of his role.
