The mystery of the missing page from a private investigator’s report on Glen Donnelly has finally been answered on Neighbours.
Last year, when Paul Robinson’s private detective John Wong produced a dossier of evidence on him, the Australian soap intimated that Glen (Richard Huggett) was hiding something.
When Paul’s granddaughter Harlow Robinson (Jemma Donovan) tried to present Terese Willis (Rebekah Elmaloglou) the report, a critical page went missing, and she was soon left dangling over the Lassiters roof in the 2021 end-of-year cliffhanger.
Later, Glen intervened with John Wong (Harry Tseng) to ensure that he would remain silent regarding the missing contents.
Glen confided with Terese about his long-lost daughter Kiri Durant in Friday’s show, finally tying off this loose end (Gemma Bird Matheson).
Kiri made an appearance during last week’s River Bend episodes, and teasers from the show had already revealed the twist in her relationship with Glen, which she is now unaware of.
“When I was dating Karen, I met someone else, Barbara,” Glen explained to Terese today. She was married, and I was in a bad way. It was a disaster.
“We ended our relationship before either of our partners found out, but not before she became pregnant.”
Because Barbara’s husband had fertility issues, Glen was certain he was the father. When Barbara’s daughter Kiri was born, her husband assumed it was a miracle pregnancy and raised her as his own, never learning the reality.
Glen said that he had put Kiri out of his mind for years, but when he returned to Erinsborough in 2021, his emotions were reawakened.
Explaining why he told Terese: “John Wong for one. The file he had on me. No prizes for guessing what was on the missing page. I thought everyone was going to find out.”
Glen admitted that he could have told Kiri the truth on their recent River Bend trip, but he argued that it wouldn’t have felt right.
Glen was surprised when Kiri showed up on his doorstep at the end of Friday’s episode.
Kiri will be in town next week to seek down Nicolette Stone (Charlotte Chimes), pushing Glen to take desperate measures to keep the two apart.
