According to a recent source, Kate Ritchie will return to Nova FM’s Kate, Tim, and Joel Show on Monday following a two-week hiatus.
Kate, 43, will reconnect with her co-hosts Joel Creasey and Tim Blackwell, according to the Sunday Herald Sun, with Ricki-Lee Coulter serving as a fill-in co-host.
The former Home and Away star said on Instagram on March 12 that she was unable to participate in the TV special Australia Unites Flood Appeal because she was “tucked up in bed with Covid.”
‘I was meant to be helping to take all your calls and donations tonight but we are tucked up in bed with COVID. So instead I’ll be tuning in and doing my bit from home come 7.30 pm,’ Kate wrote in her Instagram post.
Nova’s representatives have been contacted for comment by the Daily Mail Australia.
Kate has since put her acting career on hold and pursued a successful radio career.
The brunette began her acting career when she was eight years old, landing the role of Sally Fletcher on the long-running drama Home and Away.
She left the show in 2008, but returned for a cameo in the series’ 25th anniversary special in 2013.
Kate reflected on her experience on the iconic Channel Seven show in an interview with WHO Magazine, saying she will always be devoted to Sally.
‘I will always feel attached to Home and Away,’ she told the publication.
‘How could I not? It trained and nurtured me. It offered me some of the most wonderful years of my life and, for a long time, defined who I was.’
Kate went on to say that she is often sentimental about the memories she made on site.
‘Even now, with some distance from those days and the opportunity to develop into my own person without the security blanket of Sally,’ she continued, ‘I still miss it deeply.’
Kate now co-hosts the Nova FM Drive shift with Joel and Tim, and she’s also the author of two children’s novels.
Stuart Webb, her ex-husband, and she have a seven-year-old daughter named Mae.
