Pia Whitesell paid a surprise visit to her hometown of Melbourne last month, spending only two days there with her multi-millionaire husband Patrick before flying back to Los Angeles.
Friends of the former Home And Away star, 38, have already made some curious comments about the real reason for Pia’s quick trip to Australia.
On Friday, January 28, Pia and her Hollywood agent husband Patrick, 57, arrived in Melbourne by private plane and spent the next two days at the Australian Open.
While Pia has lots of friends in Melbourne to catch up with, acquaintances of the ex-WAG allege that her main purpose for returning to Australia was to be ‘photographed watching tennis.’
The Herald-Sun reported on Sunday that when her friends questioned her intentions for the quick trip, the overwhelming answer was a desire to be seen and photographed at the tennis.
According to the publication, Pia’s public image is incredibly important to her, and traveling for 15 hours to watch two games of tennis makes perfect sense for her.
The article claimed that ‘friends of the former AFL wag say she loves on publicity and will go to great measures to acquire it.’
In the gathering at Melbourne Park last weekend, Pia and her mega-rich husband were hard to miss.
On Saturday night, the couple was spotted watching Ash Barty and American Danielle Collins compete in the women’s final, and on Sunday, they were photographed watching Rafael Nadal and Daniil Medvedez compete in the men’s grand slam.
According to the Herald Sun, Pia and Patrick were only in Australia for 57 hours before boarding a private plane heading for the United States.
Pia married Patrick in May and has two boys from prior marriages, Isaiah and Lennox.
In September of last year, she moved permanently from Sydney to the United States.
Patrick is worth an estimated US$440 million (AU$630 million) as the CEO of Hollywood talent agency WME.
Pia has been traveling the world with Patrick since migrating to the United States, staying in top-tier hotels and homes.
