Home and Away Spoilers – Chloe meets her biological father

Chloe’s life is flipped upside down by a stranger next week on Home and Away in the UK, while tensions between Ryder and Theo increase as they take on their biggest task yet…

When Chloe’s (Sam Barrett) father, Matthew Montgomery (James Sweeny), arrived in Summer Bay last week eager to meet his child, Mia Anderson (Anna Samson) was taken aback.

Mia told Ari (Rob Kipa-Williams) that she hadn’t seen Matthew in 20 years for a good reason, claiming that her pregnancy was the result of Matthew sexually abusing her while they were both drunk at a party. Mia was given money by Matthew’s parents to undergo an abortion, but instead of doing so, she departed town.

Ari entered Chloe’s life when she was very young and has been the only father figure she’s ever known—but when he was imprisoned when Chloe was nine years old, Mia took them away from the area in hopes of a new start.

Chloe met Nikau (Kawakawa Fox-Reo) by coincidence while they were both traveling in New Zealand early last year, and the whole unit was reunited.

Last week, Matthew was taken aback by Mia’s accusation, which came after she cautioned him to keep away from Chloe, claiming that her side of the tale wouldn’t bode well for his lawyer profession.

The following week, Chloe is blissfully unaware of her mother’s dilemma, preoccupied with her job at the diner and working late in the kitchen on orders for her and Ryder’s catering business—a relationship she’s beginning to regret.

Despite Mia’s threats, Matthew determines that he has a right to meet his daughter and goes to the diner to do so.

Matthew finds himself alone with Chloe as closing time approaches, and he makes use of the chance to inquire about her business, which reminds her of his offer to assist her carrying some boxes the week before.

As the two begin to converse, she expresses her dissatisfaction with her business partner, which Matthew claims to be all too familiar with from his own line of work.

Chloe inquires as to what has brought Matthew to town, to which he responds that he is in town to surprise his daughter, to which Chloe responds that she is confident that his daughter would appreciate the gesture.

As Chloe is about to close the door, Ryder phones to tell them he won’t be able to make it for tonight’s orders, which Matthew overhears. He inquires as to whether it is safe for her to be alone so late at night and offers to remain and talk with her further.

At this point, Chloe understandably feels uneasy, and when she begs Matthew to go, he panics and calls her by her name, which she hasn’t informed him yet.

Matthew has no choice but to reveal his identity to her when he realizes he needs to act quickly.

Chloe is unsure what to believe when a stranger claims to be her father in front of her. She says she knows her father doesn’t want anything to do with her, but Matthew tells her that this isn’t the case, saying that Mia moved away and he hadn’t been able to locate her until the previous week when he saw her photo in the newspaper.

Chloe tells him to leave, but Matthew refuses and leaves his business card. Chloe calls Mia, who arrives with Ari, and her mother’s reaction only proves that Matthew is her biological father.

Mia reveals that she was only attempting to protect Chloe by not telling her that her father was hunting for her and that she has good cause to dislike Matthew. Mia, on the other hand, refrains from telling Chloe what those reasons are, while Chloe surprises her by informing her that Matthew appears to be a decent guy.

Ari meets Matthew at the dock and urges him to keep away from his family, but it’s in vain because Chloe subsequently arranges to meet him and hear him out.

Matthew tells Chloe about his and Mia’s history as he sees it, including the fact that Chloe was the consequence of a one-night affair, and Chloe warms to him as they converse and realize they have a lot in common.

As they part ways, Chloe says she’d want to meet up again, while a worried Mia looks on from distance.

Mia is upset when Chloe returns home and prevents her from seeing Matthew, but Chloe isn’t having it.

Mia has been lying to her for years, just as she has been lying to her about Ari’s captivity. Mia, Chloe believes, is to blame for this, asking her to “get over” whatever issue she has with Matthew.

Will Mia be able to tell Chloe the truth?

Meanwhile, in Summer Bay, Chloe remains a source of tension for Ryder and Theo as they continue their social media venture, but is Theo ready to go too far?

Following the success of their previous videos, the two begin brainstorming ideas for their most difficult task yet, and Theo finds the perfect solution: a firewall!

Ryder isn’t keen on the thought of walking across red-hot coals, but Theo eventually persuades him to have the firewalk built upon the grass at the trailer park.

Theo and Ryder begin walking across the coals that evening, with a large audience cheering them on—only for Cash (Nicholas Cartwright) to appear and demand to know what they’re doing.

Theo and Ryder come to a halt in their steps as a result of the brief interruption, and a split second later, they leap off the hot embers in pain…

Back at Theo’s apartment, while Theo and Ryder tend to their burned feet, it’s up to their number one fanboy Justin (James Stewart) to watch the tape and pick a winner—Ryder!

As Ryder taunts Theo, he realizes he’s a jerk, but he knows exactly how to put Ryder in his place by gloatingly announcing that he kissed Chloe.

Ryder is taken aback as Theo recounts that it happened right after the chili challenge when Ryder was busy puking.

Ryder storms out, and the next day announces to Theo that their partnership is over!
